Measuring 12.5" in diameter and 5.25" high, this is a large medium buttery yellow ware bowl with a thick band of decoration. Slightly fatter and squattier than most bowls, this bowl has such a nice feel when you are holding it. Some bowls just speak to you and this one certainly does once it is in your hands. The extra wide white band encircling the fattest portion of the bowl is outlined by a dark chocolate band on top and bottom. Numerous patches of blue seaweed decoration highlight the wide white band.. These patches are well defined and uniquely done in that they are swooping upward like branches from a tree rather than done in the more traditional strictly horizontal fashion. At least three of these cornflower blue patches can be seen regardless of where you are viewing the bowl. The richness of the yellow of the bowl adds to the warmth exuding from this bowl.
