Fabulous Grand Loop & Line Ironstone Pitcher - Jacob Furnival

Description:

Standing 9" high and measuring 8.5" from spout to handle, this is a wonderful table or water pitcher. With its well defined molded vertical loops, this is commonly referred to as "Grand Loop and Line" shape. Produced by Jacob Furnival starting in the 1840's in England, this is one of our favorite patterns. The potter J.F. is often considered to have been the Neiman Marcus of the ironstone world. He potted some of the best patterns and some of the heaviest and best pieces. This wonderful medium size to large pitcher is spectacular. Perfectly serviceable due to size and pristine condition. Brilliantly white with no condition issues. J.F. is stamped on the bottom. We also have a punch bowl in the same pattern and have had various other pieces in this pattern over the years. See our other listings for other Furnival pieces with stately patterns but not overly feminine. We enjoy working with individuals and decorators so please contact us to help you assemble a grouping of pitchers or build a cupboard.
