Unusual Tall Slender Skinny Ironstone Ewer with Exaggerated Leaf

Description:

Quite possibly one of our favorite pitchers we have had. Standing 12.25" tall, it is slightly taller than usual and most certainly skinnier than most. It's slightly bulbous region near the base quickly tapers into the skinny, elongated middle region. Large, highly-detailed, puffy-like leaves extend onto the body from the top and bottom of the handle. This same exaggerated acanthus-like leaf creates the decoration under the spout. With its unusually slender body and incredible puffy large leaves, this pitcher will stand out among your others and is perfect to actually use as a vase. It has so much presence and elegance wrapped into one that it can easily be used for a floral arrangement in your entryway or sideboard. No condition issues. No chips, cracks, or stains. Marked Henry Alcock & Co in a stamp on the bottom. Produced in the mid to late 1800's in England, it exhibits that brilliant white which is perfect for assembling a grouping of pitchers as most have the same coloration. Feel free to contact us to help you assemble a grouping or select them from our listings. We welcome working with individuals and decorators alike.
