Standing 10" high and measuring 9" x 14," this is a wonderfully plain ironstone soup tureen with just a bit of fascinating detail to the handles. Meakin Bros bottom mark indicates it was produced in 1865 in England. Meakin was a prolific potter of ironstone, and this is the only pattern/shape that bears the Meakin Bros mark. The handles are thick and almost strap like. Flowing bulbous shape on a nice pedestal create just the perfect plain soup tureen. No condition issues. No staining. A stately piece for your collection or to be the centerpiece of your serving pieces for that special occasion. If a ladle is so desired, we have several which would work well.
