Early 14 karat Gold 58" Long Intricate Link English Watch Chain

Description:

Simply superb!  Exceptionally crafted with its oblong links, this wonderfully yellow gold watch chain dates to the 1880's.  Made for the English market and originally referred to as a watch chain.  These were mostly worn by men for their pocket watches; however, they are now worn by woman to make a unique statement.  Shown with an amethyst fob.  Chain and fob are sold individually.

Links are sturdy and substantial.  Chain has good weight at 29.2 grams and is not flimsy.  All chains are checked and have no loose links.  Links are smooth and will not irritate sensitive skin nor snag on clothing.

Rich yellow color is rare for chains from this period as most lean to a rose color.  It's higher karat also makes it a rather odd piece and allows it be a bit more yellow.

Perfect for someone wanting a chain to either double or even triple.  58" allows one to have a doubled chain at 30" long which is an ideal length. Truly versatile and very wearable.
