Rock crystal pieces are often considered to have been the traveling jewelry. If the carriages were stopped and robbed of all the jewels, then they would not lose their highly valuable diamond pieces. Not wanting to be unadorned on their trips and especially when arriving at their destinations, ladies of the period wore sparkling pieces of jewelry made of such stones.
For these to be so sizable and have the dangling pendants, these had an even more special purpose. Far too elaborate to just have been one's traveling earrings. Perfectly paired. Superb condition. Absolutely a true treasure.
