Measuring 7" in diameter and 5" high, this is a lovely round lidded butter dish in the popular "Sydenham" pattern. With its crisp fluted pattern, it has a wonderful presence. Round lidded butters are not commonly seen and this one is exceptional. Pristine condition with no staining. Even has the original liner. These lidded butters would be have a deep indented portion in the bottom where a liner would sit. This would allow the butter to "sweat." Not only is this a fabulous find for a collector of Sydenham but also for the collector looking to add a useful, unusual form.
