Fabulous Early English Sterling Silver Compass Watch Fob Twist Bezel

Description:

Absolutely wonderful and one of the prettiest compasses we have had.  Chunky twist rope bezel accentuates the top portion of the compass.  Adds extra pizzazz to a medium-sized compass.  Bezel is just interesting enough to allow the compass to be able to grace any chain and be worn on its own or in combination with other fobs.

Traditionally watch fobs such as these were used to balance a pocket watch and worn hanging from a man's pocket watch chain.  Today, these watch fobs are worn from watch chains or other chains used as necklaces.  Often they are worn as an interesting grouping to create a unique, unpredictable look.

Compasses were often given as gifts to signify the recipient would always be able to find his/her way home and the compass would help guide one's path.

Excellent condition with clear glass on each side. Proper working order.  Fully hallmarked on the edge.

Shown on a trombone link chain from the period.  Price is for compass only.
