Measuring a grand 7.5" x 14" and 10" high, this is a stunning large ironstone soup tureen. Finely detailed corn forms the top finial while elaborately detailed corn embossing adorns the body of the tureen and edges of the underplate. Nicely formed lug handles on each end of the body of the tureen are also decorated with the corn motif. Nothing was spared when creating this piece. Even the underplate has a lovely arcing shape. Its overall presence is incredibly graceful yet bold. It is sure to make a statement when used to anchor the center of your service on special occasions or to be the showpiece of your cupboard. Impressed J. Wedgwood on the bottom of both soup tureen and underplate. Incredibly no damage and no staining. J. Wedgwood produced this pattern between 1841 and 1860 in England.
