Lovely Ceres Wheat Ironstone Creamer

Description:

Standing 6" high, this is a lovely ironstone creamer in one of the most popular patterns. Ceres or wheat pattern is one of the most desirable/collectible patterns because there is so much available in the pattern. One can find almost a complete table service somewhat easily in this pattern. This creamer has excellent detail indicative of a piece made by Elsmore and Forster. Elsmore and Forster was the first potter to make this pattern and was then copied by other potters. Elsmore and Forster made this shape between 1853 and 1871. Their impressed mark is found on the bottom of the creamer. Creamers and pitchers are often the first step in ironstone collecting and most collectors never venture far from their first love. With the fat vertical ribs and flared/scalloped top rim, this creamer has a lovely base shape as well as a wonderful embossed wheat pattern. The pattern is very crisp. Creamer is in excellent condition with no issues or staining. If searching for other creamers or pitchers and you do not find something in our other listings, then do not hesitate to contact us.
