Measuring 8" x 10.5", this lovely ironstone serving bowl exhibits the Ceres/wheat pattern. Lightly fluted with a faint pattern of wheat encircling the top rim. Elsmore and Forster impressed maker's mark can be found on the bottom. Elsmore and Forster was the first potter to make the Ceres/wheat pattern in the 1860's. Ceres is one of the most collectible patterns as some collectors want to form an entire collection of one pattern, and it is almost possible with enough searching to find all serving pieces and various size plates in this pattern. If you are a Ceres collector, you are welcome to contact us as we tend to have several pieces of Ceres at any given time. Whether you are a Ceres collector or simply an ironstone collector, oval vegetable serving bowls are very useful. They are not easily found and especially not with any sort of pattern. Being of medium size, this is a wonderfully serviceable but beautiful piece. No condition issues and no staining. We professionally package and can easily, safely ship any item, fully insured, within the US. We specialize in ironstone and have an extensive inventory so please do not hesitate to contact us if you are searching for something in particular or are trying to fill a cupboard.
