Elongated paperclip-style links connected by three robust round links create this amazing "trombone" link chain. Popularized by Gwyneth Paltrow and others, this has quickly become the most coveted links in Victorian chains. This link was not widely produced; thus there are fewer in existence and high in demand.
Most are not this bold or chunky. Each elongated link as well as the round ones have considerable heft and are not flimsy. Elongated links measure 1" long. Each end terminates in an original dog clip.
Dog clips are in proper working order and close securely. Back of chain is rather unusual as it has 15 round links in a row breaking the repeating order. This makes this a wonderful candidate for someone who wishes to have a very versatile chain.

Gold content is 9 karat. Most chains of this period are of this karat. It is slighlty rose in color and can easily blend with either yellow or very rosy colored gold pieces. It is shown with a yellow gold lion fob so you are able to see the variance in color. They are sold individually. Truly one of the nicest we have had due to its chunky links and wonderful length.

9kt gold became all the rage during this time as it was more affordable for the upper middle class, and it allowed them to denote their rising status in society. The vast majority of gold jewelry found during this period is of this karat content. Earrings, bangles, and chains were now being worn during the day and were no longer reserved for evening. Women of this period were no different than women today; each enjoyed her own style and her pieces were special and significant to her. Her personality emanated from her jewelry.
