Standing 10" high and measuring 9" x 14," this is a wonderfully plain ironstone soup tureen with just a bit of fascinating detail to the handles. Meakin Bros bottom mark indicates it was produced in 1865 in England. Meakin was a prolific potter of ironstone, and this is the only pattern/shape that bears the Meakin Bros mark. The handles are thick and almost strap like. Flowing bulbous shape on a nice pedestal create just the perfect plain soup tureen. No condition issues. No staining. A stately piece for your collection or to be the centerpiece of your serving pieces for that special occasion. If a ladle is so desired, we have several which would work well. We specialize in ironstone and have an extensive inventory so please do not hesitate to contact us if you are searching for something in particular or are trying to fill a cupboard.
