Green Glazed Arcs and Lines Yellowware Milk Bowl

Description:

Measuring 8.5" in diameter and only 3.5" deep, this is an unusual size bowl. These shallow bowls are referred to as milk bowls. Fresh milk would be poured into these shallow bowls and when it was cooled the cream would have risen to the top. Milk bowls are not as readily found and in limited patterns. This pattern is referred to as "Arcs and Lines" and was produced by the Watt Pottery Company in the 1920's. Mixing bowls ranging in size from 5" to 11", milk bowls, and canisters in both this grass green glaze and the warm pumpkin glaze can be found in this pattern. This grass green glazed milk bowl would add variety to any collection.
