Fluted Pearl Razor Box - Lots of Pizzazz

Description:

Exaggerated fluting on the lid and base are simply mesmerizing. Measuring 8" long and 3.5" to top of the finial, this is a wonderfully shaped razor box. With a slight bevel to the top and sides of the lid, this one has all sorts of pizzazz. Produced by J. Wedgwood in 1847, it is truly incredible both lid and base are in such excellent condition. No staining. Perfect to add a little something different to your ironstone collection. Would even be fantastic to be used for jewelry or even paperclips and such on a desk. Razor boxes are somewhat elusive as they had rough use and were not commonly produced as their wasn't high demand. This is one of the most elaborate ones we have seen. Glaze has remarkable sheen.
