One of the toughest pieces to find in green and cream glaze, this butter crock has exceptional embossing. From top to bottom, the exterior of this butter crock is completely filled with an intricate pattern. Horizontal bands of varying design create the pattern.
Measuring 5.75" in diameter and 4" high, it is a nice medium size and has quite a presence. Perfectly blended green glaze accentuates the top, middle, and lower portions.
Produced in the 1920's during the same period as the bowls, it is the only form found in this pattern. Most patterns from this time can be found on various forms which leads us to believe this was done in limited production. Other pieces with such elaborate patterns were abandoned after a brief period due to clay building up in the molds and making it blurry after just a few uses. It is believed this was the case with this pattern since so few have surfaced and only butter crocks can be found with this pattern.
