Fantastic Mississippi Shape Pattern Ironstone Tall Pitcher

Description:

Quite possibly one of the prettiest ironstone pitchers we have had.  The overall shape combined with the flowing lines of the pattern create a pleasing palette.  Set off by the scrolls on the wide band encircling the spout and punctuating the handle.  Measuring 11.5" high and 8.5" from spout to handle, it is a wonderful tall pitcher which can be classified by some as a ewer.

Impressed on the bottom with the maker's mark, E. Pearson. Pattern is called "Mississippi Shape" and was produced by Pearson in limited quantity in the mid-1850's.  Other potters made a pattern similar to the is, and it is known as "Baltic Shape."

Beautiful crisp pattern with the early true white.  Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  A stunning piece which would be perfect to grace a foyer table or become the newest addition to a pitcher or ironstone collection.
