Interesting Butterfly Bird Victorian Sterling Silver Locket

Description:

Wonderful early English Victorian sterling silver locket with all the bells and whistles. Most lockets exhibit only a bird or floral motif; however, this one not only has a bird, flowers but also a butterfly.  All done in a stylized manner typical of the designs of that period.

Dating to the 1880's, this is very indicative of an early English locket.  Pie crust edge with beading outlining the edge adds extra interest. Lockets, chains, and bangles of this period were made for a specific woman and were not exported.  Thus, these pieces are not frequently found in The States.  We specialize in these pieces so please do not hesitate to inquire about other pieces we have in our vast inventory not shown on the website.
