Absolutely amazing! Ironstone bread platters are not commonly found and this is one we have never seen. Fluted, highly detailed embossed wheat spirals outward from the center. This elaborate wheat pattern is often referred to as the Ceres pattern. It is one of the most popular and desirable patterns.
Measuring 12" x 14", this is a generous platter with beveled edges. Words are embossed on the edge as well.
Although it is not marked, it is a very early piece by one of the best potters. Exhibits the white of the early pieces.
